The Space Bar Revelation

Text on the meme

How old were you when you discovered the space bar on your phone isn’t just for spaces? You might already know, but pretty handy, right!

What it means

A phone user types a message explaining that the smartphone space bar can be used for more than inserting spaces, then the clip cuts to a bearded man in sunglasses sitting in a car, silently processing the revelation with an increasingly stunned expression. The joke is the exaggerated reaction to a simple keyboard shortcut, while the smooth, romantic funk of Mr. Fingers’ “Mystery of Love” makes the moment feel dramatically profound.
