Marvel Gives Life Meaning
PERSON: “You don’t have kids!? How old are you?” ME: “31.” P: “That surprises me. I’d be lost without my kids. I mean, how do you find meaning in life?” M: “Marvel keeps coming out with films... so I have that.”
A screenshot of a social media post shows a conversation about not having children and finding meaning in life. The speaker answers that Marvel films provide enough meaning, followed by a crude, overwhelmed-looking black cartoon face. The joke mocks both conventional parenthood as life’s purpose and obsessive fandom as an alternative source of meaning.
