The image juxtaposes a hand-drawn cover showing two people holding hands over a dessert display with a Goodreads-style listing for the book “Their Troublesome Crush.” The joke is the extremely specific, densely packed description of a queer polyamorous romance, presented like an absurdly niche book recommendation or review. It is used as a reaction to situations that are overwhelmingly specific, complicated, or unexpectedly earnest.
