Lia Thomas interview at the pool

LIA THOMAS Winner - Women's 500y Freestyle (4:33.24)

A swimmer in a black racing suit, cap, and goggles is interviewed beside an indoor competition pool while a lower-third identifies her as Lia Thomas, winner of the women’s 500-yard freestyle. The exaggerated transcript boasts about dominating the other women, making the clip an ironic and provocative reaction meme about transgender athletes and competitive advantage. The confident sports-interview visuals contrasted with the boastful voiceover create the joke. There's so many amazing women athletes out here today. It makes me so proud. Now that I can compete as female, I'm ready to smash the other girls. I'm here to kick some f***ing ass. I'm gonna rule up the other women here, and I'm gonna smoke them. I am the strongest woman this state has ever seen.
