Putin listening to mother apology

Putin Dear President Vladimir Putin I so sorry I was not your mother If I was your mother You would have been so loved Held in the arms of joyous light Never would this story’s plight The world Unfurled Before our eyes A demise Of nation sitting peaceful under a night sky If I was your mother The world would have been warm So much laughter and joy Nothing would harm I can’t imagine

A red-lit nightclub reaction edit labels a serious-looking man “Putin” while a blonde woman’s video addresses “Dear President Vladimir Putin” and sings/apologises that, if she had been his mother, he would have been loved and the world would be warm. The joke is the melodramatic fantasy of maternal affection reforming him, contrasted with his restrained reaction. Home’s instrumental synthwave track “Resonance” plays with a nostalgic, melancholy electronic mood, making the edit feel grandly sentimental rather than comedic.
