The Thing Behind You Catches Up
You return to the entrance but the door is closed. The thing behind you catches up.
A two-panel horror meme shows a distorted skull-like face after someone returns to an entrance and finds the door closed. The thing pursuing them catches up, turning a tense escape scenario into an ominous punchline. It is used as a reaction to situations where an attempted escape or solution fails at the last moment.
