Lost Cause Mission

Text on the meme

Look, Pim, I know it's our job to help this guy and everything, but I think this guy is a lost cause. He has obviously made up his mind. Why don't we just cut our losses and get out of here?

What it means

Charlie and Pim from Smiling Friends discuss abandoning a hopeless person while a distressed figure appears in the background. The joke is that their usual mission is to help people, but the situation looks so futile that Charlie suggests giving up and leaving; it works as a reaction to an irredeemable or hopeless situation.
