American Psycho Director Reveal
me finding out american psycho was directed by a woman
Patrick Bateman from American Psycho stares blankly into the camera as the video slowly zooms in on his increasingly intense expression. The joke is the exaggerated shock at learning that the film was directed by a woman, using Bateman’s emotionless stare as a reaction to an unexpected fact. Mareux’s darkwave song “The Perfect Girl” adds a gloomy, stylish, unsettling mood that makes the reaction feel dramatically over-serious.
