Keep It Secret Keep It Safe

Text on the meme

Why do they need permission to pay tribute to a historical and beloved person? I found this picture on several sites. Was it supposed to be kept as a secret? Keep it secret. Keep it safe. Would you be able to provide us with those sites as well please? Use Google like the rest of us peons do... Didn't know you were the JRR Tolkien...this is a huge world and the internet is a big place. Protecting one photo of a loved figure will take a lifetime. Is it copyrighted? please show us that article

What it means

A screenshot of a Twitter exchange about using a picture of a beloved historical figure, accompanied by a GIF captioned “Keep it secret. Keep it safe.” The joke is that the response dramatically invokes Tolkien and the famous Lord of the Rings quote to mock someone demanding permission and treating an image as secret or protected. It is used as a sarcastic reaction to overzealous copyright complaints or gatekeeping.
