Women in Finance Are Rising

What it means

A fake Apple News feed contrasts a gloomy CNBC headline about falling financial markets with a Barron’s headline saying “Women in finance are rising — at last.” Below, two Team Fortress 2-style characters casually drink from mugs, creating an absurd visual pun on the word “rising” and the celebratory tone of the second headline. The meme is used as a reaction to ironic good news or a suspiciously positive interpretation of a bad situation.
