A young man listens to an older man at a dimly lit bar talk about wishing he were young again and praising the younger man’s prime years. The joke is that the supposedly ideal young man has no romantic experience and never goes outside, making the older man’s envy completely misguided. It is used as a self-deprecating reaction about being socially isolated despite technically being in the “prime of life.”
