Patrick Bateman in the Wasteland
Get away from my stall, you synth! We don’t serve you... things here. So what brings a man like you to my part of town? I’ll mark it on your map. Go find out what they need. And maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable.
Patrick Bateman appears in a Fallout-style wasteland and encounters characters from Fallout 4, including Myrna, Magnolia, and Preston Garvey, before an explosion and a return to his iconic plastic-suit scene. The clip humorously mixes Bateman’s detached serial-killer monologue from American Psycho with absurd Fallout dialogue and destruction, while Dion’s upbeat 1961 rock-and-roll song “The Wanderer” creates an ironic contrast with the violence and apocalyptic setting.
There is an idea of a Patrick Bateman. Some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me. Only an entity. Something illusory. Mr. Patrick! Who's Tony on the rocks? Get away from my stall, you synth! We don't serve you things here! You're a fucking ugly bitch! Ask me a question. So what brings a man like you to my part? Well murders and executions mostly. I've got words of settlement that needs our help. I'll mark it on your map. We'll find out what they mean. And though I can hide my cold gaze and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable I simply am not there.
