Mom's Deadly Typo

Text on the meme

I'm leaving rn Kys what????? Keep yourself safe

What it means

A person texts their mother, “I'm leaving rn,” and she replies “Kys,” which is commonly read as the hostile abbreviation for “kill yourself.” The shocked “what?????” is followed by her innocent clarification, “Keep yourself safe,” creating a darkly comic misunderstanding. It is sent as a reaction to accidental abbreviations, parental texting confusion, or messages that sound far more threatening than intended.
