Luke Skywalker Is the Good Guy

Funny how people act like it's so shocking and awful when poor people in faraway countries turn to terrorism just because an occupying army destroyed their homes and killed their family, but when they watch Star Wars they still recognize that Luke Skywalker is the good guy

A tweet is shown above a still from Star Wars featuring Luke Skywalker standing in a dusty, smoke-filled landscape beside wreckage on Tatooine. The joke uses the contrast between real-world reactions to terrorism and the audience’s sympathy for Luke, whose family and home were destroyed by an occupying force. It is sent as a darkly satirical reaction about political violence, double standards, and the framing of heroes and terrorists.
