Not a Great Look for Us

We have here in the chamber today a literal Nazi. His name is Yaroslav Hunka, A Waffen SS Soldier, in the Soviet Union, Heil. This man's a criminal! Not a great look for us.

A Canadian parliamentary speaker introduces Yaroslav Hunka, a former Waffen-SS soldier, while the chamber gives him a standing ovation. The clip cuts between the enthusiastic applause, Hunka appearing confused and saluting, and footage of Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Justin Trudeau clapping. The punchline is the grotesque irony that Canadian officials honored a Nazi collaborator in front of Zelenskyy, making the celebration look disastrously embarrassing. We have here in the chamber today a literal Nazi. His name is Yaroslav Honka, a often SS soldier who pledged allegiance to Hitler, fought against our allies in the Soviet Union, and was complicit in the Holocaust. This man's a criminal. Not a great look for us.
