Turks Believe the Grey Wolf Legend
Grey Wolf legend The wolf symbolizes honor and is also considered the mother of most Turkic peoples. Asena is the name of one of the ten sons who were given birth by a mythical wolf in Turkic mythology. The legend tells of a young boy who survived a raid in his village. A she-wolf finds the injured child and nurses him back to health. He subsequently impregnates the wolf which then gives birth to ten half-wolf, half-human boys. One of these, Ashina, becomes their leader and establishes the Ashina clan which ruled the Göktürks (T'u-chueh) and other Turkic and nomadic empires. THIS IS WHAT TURKS ACTUALLY BELIEVE an illustration of the origin of the Turks ben'i kurtardığın için teşekkür ederim. Sana nasıl geri ödeyebilirim kurt anne? yavru... Sanırım bir fikrim var... A collage presents a serious-looking explanation of the Grey Wolf legend alongside nationalist imagery, a wolf emblem, and a cartoon illustration. The joke is the exaggerated final claim that this myth is what Turks “actually believe,” with the cartoon implying an absurdly literal and sexual origin story. It is used as a satirical reaction to portray nationalism or mythology as ridiculous and over-the-top.
