YUGIOH MONSTER GIRLS IN THE EARLY 2000s YUGIOH MONSTER GIRLS NOW

What it means

A four-panel comparison shows dark, muscular and provocative Yu-Gi-Oh monster girls from the early 2000s contrasted with cute, colorful and childlike monster girls from the modern era. The muscular Doge below represents the exaggerated toughness and edgy style of the older designs, while the small seated Doge with a bow represents the softer, cuter aesthetic of newer designs. The meme is used to joke about a fandom or franchise becoming less intimidating and more kawaii over time.
