SEGMENTUM OBSCURUS SEGMENTUM PACIFICUS SEGMENTUM SOLAR ULTIMA SEGMENTUM THE MACRAGGE SYSTEM THE HOME OF THE ULTRAMARINES SPACE MARINES CHAPTER. CAPITAL WORLD: MACRAGGE A functional sub-empire inside the larger Imperium, this realm is home to the Ultramarines and their successor chapters. It is one of the relative bastions of stability in a universe of horror. Until the recent disasters, the average human life expectancy even managed to reach the mid-thirties.

What it means

A detailed map of the Macragge system and the surrounding regions of the Warhammer 40,000 galaxy. The map presents Macragge as the capital world and home of the Ultramarines, while the description humorously emphasizes that even this relatively stable part of the Imperium has an average human life expectancy of only the mid-thirties. It is used as a reaction to grim fictional worldbuilding, dystopian settings, or situations where “stability” is still horrifying by normal standards.
