September 11 Memorial Monument
SEPTEMBER 11. 2001
A small outdoor memorial stands in front of a brick building, with two tall dark stone slabs, a central sculptural figure, and the inscription “SEPTEMBER 11. 2001.” The unusual composition invites a puzzled reaction, especially because the monument’s design looks strange or unintentionally suggestive.
