Lauren Witzke Wants Putin to Liberate America

Lauren Witzke, the Delaware GOP's candidate for Senate in 2020, says the U.S. is "just drifting farther and farther away from God" and longs for the nation to be liberated by Vladimir Putin.

A screenshot of a social media post quotes Lauren Witzke, a former Republican Senate candidate from Delaware, saying that the United States is drifting away from God and should be liberated by Vladimir Putin. The joke comes from the extreme and politically absurd wish for a foreign authoritarian leader to “liberate” America, making this useful as a reaction to pro-Putin or far-right statements.
