Ukraine’s Great Epic

Text on the meme

Ukraine is hosting one of the great epics of this century “We are Harry Potter and William Wallace, the Na’vi and Han Solo. We’re escaping from Shawshank and blowing up the Death Star. We are fighting with the Harkonnens and challenging Thanos.”

What it means

A screenshot of a NATO tweet praising Ukraine in grand cinematic language, comparing the country’s struggle to famous heroes and battles from Harry Potter, Braveheart, Avatar, Star Wars, The Shawshank Redemption, Dune, and Marvel. The joke is the absurdly epic mashup of pop-culture references, presented as if Ukraine were simultaneously living through every legendary adventure, earning a joking 9/10 rating.
