Ukraine's Great Epic

🗣️ Ukraine is hosting one of the great epics of this century “We are Harry Potter and William Wallace, the Na’vi and Han Solo. We’re escaping from Shawshank and blowing up the Death Star. We are fighting with the Harkonnens and challenging Thanos.” [9/10]

The meme shows a devastated Ukrainian city filled with destroyed buildings, burned vehicles, and debris, while a post grandly compares Ukraine’s wartime struggle to famous heroes and fictional battles. The joke is the absurdly epic, cinematic framing of a horrifying real-world disaster, presented as though it were a blockbuster adventure. It is used as a sarcastic reaction to exaggerated patriotic rhetoric or dramatic descriptions of war.
