IT SHOULD’VE BEEN ME WAKE UP WAKE UP

What it means

An anime-style woman drinks while the caption “IT SHOULD’VE BEEN ME” stays on screen, then the clip abruptly cuts to an alarmed-looking man with “WAKE UP” repeated twice. The dramatic Metallica song “One” builds a bitter, intense mood, making the joke feel like an exaggerated jealous fantasy interrupted by reality. It works as a reaction to feeling replaced, overlooked, or desperately needing someone to snap out of it.
