Pig Person of the Year
DOUBLE ISSUE DEC. 20 2022 / JAN. 9, 2023 PERSON OF THE YEAR SVINYA POBULKAY & THE SPIRIT OF PORKS
A parody magazine cover shows a large pink pig in front of a collage of Ukrainian flags, sunflowers, soldiers, and civilians. The joke imitates TIME’s Person of the Year issue by humorously crowning the pig “Svinya Pobulkay” and invoking the spirit of porks, making it a satirical reaction to wartime hero worship and propaganda.
