Chimp Struggles Underwater

Some underwater sequences in The Little Mermaid are completely CGI due to the star having difficulties to swim

A split-screen clip shows a man and a chimpanzee struggling underwater beneath an article headline about The Little Mermaid using CGI because its star had difficulty swimming. The audio joke, “In water, chimps will drown,” extends the comparison by treating the chimp’s frantic sinking as proof that underwater scenes are impossible for it. It works as an absurd reaction to someone being unable to swim.
