Homelander Tries Not to Say It
Everyone: “Why can’t the little mermaid be black?” White people trying not to say “Because black people can’t swim.”
A uniformed Homelander from The Boys puffs out his cheeks and struggles to hold back a thought. The joke satirizes a racist stereotype as an intentionally offensive response to criticism of a Black Little Mermaid. People send it as an edgy reaction when someone is visibly trying not to say something inappropriate.
