Even Straight Men Get Monkeypox

Even straight men, who occasionally engage in anal sex with other men, can get Monkeypox. I Have Monkey Pox. Careful Out There. NSFW 1316 pts 10 hours, 48 mins ago by MonkeyPoxD to sanfrancisco (self.sanfrancisco) Day 7. It's located on the place a man would least want it to be. Quite uncomfortable though not super painful...yet It's so new that it feels like even the health care people I've dealt with don't really know anything and are minorly afraid of me. At urgent care they were treating me like I was patient zero in the movie Outbreak. Also, it felt pretty awkward telling my jobs and parents given the fact that it's basically the "gay disease" in the media. As a usually straight person who dabbles in non-straight sex occasionally, it was pretty awkward to basically at 35 years old be outed by getting this. My mom was throwing out some awkward questions lol.

A Twitter screenshot quotes a Reddit post from a person who contracted monkeypox after occasionally having sex with men, describing an uncomfortable infection and awkward conversations with doctors, employers, and parents. The joke comes from the blunt contrast between the claim of being usually straight and the very explicit circumstances, presented as an absurdly candid reaction to public-health messaging.
