Asia Escalator Fat Shaming
Western Cultures: Afraid of fat shaming Asia:
A subway station shows separate directions for thin and overweight people, with the thin figure pointed toward the stairs and the larger figure pointed toward the escalator. The joke exaggerates the stereotype that Asian societies are less concerned about fat shaming and more comfortable making blunt weight-related jokes.
