Sensory Nightmare Collar

Text on the meme

naughty autists get put in the sensory nightmare collar

What it means

A two-panel image shows a makeshift collar made from tangled wires and numerous clothing tags, first lying on a wooden floor and then worn around a person’s neck. The joke compares the scratchy, chaotic collar to a sensory nightmare, using exaggerated dark humor about sensory overload and punishment. It is shared as an absurd reaction to overwhelming textures, tags, and sensations.
