My Future Depends on Me

My future depends on .... ME??????????

A blurry gray tabby cat dramatically opens its mouth and thrashes around while the caption says, “My future depends on .... ME??????????” The joke is the cat’s exaggerated panic at being responsible for its own future, making it a reaction for self-doubt, existential dread, or overwhelming responsibility. Aphex Twin’s “QKThr” plays as soft, melancholic ambient electronic music, creating an oddly beautiful and serious mood that makes the cat’s frantic reaction even more absurd.
