American Semicolon Innuendos
I'm European and don't understand Help, anyone ? Germans use ;) like how Americans use :) Americans use ;) as a form of innuendo Example: "You can use my back door ;)" = anal sex Oops, guess as an American I've been sending everyone innuendos for the past 15 years. "Just getting on the plane now ;)" sent to my mom awhile ago.
A dark-mode social media thread jokes about different interpretations of the winking semicolon emoticon. One commenter explains that Americans use ;) suggestively, leading to the punchline that an innocent message to the speaker’s mother sounded sexual. It is sent as a reaction to misunderstandings, awkward texting, or accidental innuendo.
