Wanna Be Toxic Chemistry Lesson
wanna be toxic? STEP 1: DRAW ALL POSSIBLE CARBON SKELETONS LET'S SAME PERSON! ARE HOW TO ARRANGE 5 CARBONS? B TOTAL ISOMER COUNT = 3 BR BR BR UNIQUE 2 TOTAL ISOMER COUNT = 8 BR UNIQUE HOW MANY CONSTITUTIONAL ISOMERS SHARE THE FORMULA C₅H₁₁BR? PEACE
A young man enthusiastically begins with “wanna be toxic?” while a small dog and a large glass mug sit nearby. The clip then switches to an animated chemistry lesson demonstrating carbon skeletons and bromine substitutions, while reaction footage of Eminem plays underneath; it concludes that C₅H₁₁Br has eight constitutional isomers and signs off with “PEACE.” The joke combines the slang meaning of “toxic” with toxic bromine chemistry and Eminem’s dramatic reaction shots, making it a reaction meme for overcomplicated explanations or unexpectedly intense studying. Wanna be toxic? Step 2, attach the Substituent Group. Let's revisit the 5-carbon straight chain. I can attach my bromine atom at the first, second, and third position to get 3 unique products. Note that adding at position 4 and 5 gives you the same product as 2 and 1. Once done, we look at the 4-carbon straight chain. Here we add BR at positions 1, 2, 3, and 4 to get 4 uncayu products. Again, note that 4 and 5 are actually identical. Lastly, with the 3-carbon straight chain, I can add bromine to form only one unique product. Adding at these positions get me to same product as well. Altogether we can form eight constitutional isomer with C5H11BR. This is Kim Eminem. Peace.
