the time machine works. im in the oval office. bill clinton is there. i tell him all about 9/11 and how to stop it he smiles wryly. stands up, turns, stares out at the rose garden, hands behind his back. he chuckles. "you think youre the first one, dont you? to come back here?"
A fictional time traveler visits Bill Clinton in the Oval Office and warns him about 9/11, only for Clinton to reveal that other time travelers have already come back to try to stop it. The joke uses dark time-travel humor and Clinton’s knowing reaction as a punchline for a surreal historical scenario.
