GStreamer Acronym Rabbit Hole

Text on the meme

I went down a rabbit hole to learn that: The G in GStreamer stands for GLib. The G in GLib stands for GTK. The G in GTK stands for GIMP. The G in GIMP stands for GNU. The G in GNU stands for GNU. In other words, GStreamer is short for “GNU’s not unix image manipulation program toolkit library streamer”

What it means

A Twitter screenshot jokes about the recursive naming conventions of the Linux and GNU software ecosystem. Each acronym expands into another acronym, ending with the absurd claim that GStreamer means “GNU’s not unix image manipulation program toolkit library streamer.” It is shared as a reaction to confusing technical terminology and recursive acronyms.
