Cats Are the Dishwasher

Text on the meme

This is how a dishwasher works

What it means

Two cats climb and move around inside a dishwasher among the racks and plates, humorously pretending to be the machine’s washing mechanism. The joke comes from treating the cats as the dishwasher itself, while Laurindo Almeida’s gentle bossa nova/jazz instrumental “The Lamp Is Low” makes the absurd scene feel calm and elegantly serious.
