Never Gonna Give You Up Recording

“Then I'm gonna give you up, then I'm gonna let you down, then I'm gonna run around with dessert spoons. Then I'm gonna make you cry, then I'm gonna say goodbye, then I'm gonna tell a lie and hurt you.”

Rick Astley sings in a recording booth while the captions parody the lyrics of “Never Gonna Give You Up,” replacing the familiar promises with absurd threats about dessert spoons. The upbeat pop performance makes the increasingly nonsensical words funnier, so the clip works as a playful rickroll-style reaction to betrayal or fake promises.
