Female Frogs Fake Their Death
Female frogs appear to fake death to avoid unwanted advances, study shows Findings shed light on European common frog’s sometimes deadly scramble for a mate
A female European common frog lies on top of a male frog in shallow water. The joke comes from the headline about females faking death to escape unwanted mating advances, while the photo humorously shows a male apparently pursuing or mounting a female. It is used as an absurd reaction to unwanted attention, awkward romance, or avoiding someone’s advances.
