Internet Consumer Watching the Screen

Text on the meme

internet consume,

What it means

A drawn, tired-looking person sits at a computer while the screen glitches and the image shifts into harsh red-and-white distortion, then returns to the viewer and a dark monitor. The caption “internet consume,” turns passive online consumption into an absurdly bleak joke: the internet is portrayed as something that mindlessly consumes the person. Mac DeMarco’s dreamy, melancholic psychedelic-pop song “Chamber Of Reflection” plays over the clip, making the repetition and glitchy visuals feel hypnotic, detached, and darkly funny.
