Driving Home Too Drunk

Text on the meme

Me driving home after my friends yelled at me that I'm too drunk to drive

What it means

A gray-haired man drives a car through a dark tunnel while the footage becomes increasingly green, blurry, and chaotic. The caption jokes that he ignored his friends’ warning and is driving home drunk, while The Smiths’ melancholic “There Is a Light That Never Goes Out” makes the reckless journey feel dramatically romantic and absurd. It works as a reaction to pretending everything is under control when it clearly is not.
