and god taketh away

A crudely drawn red blanket or cloth lies on a white background beneath the caption “and god taketh away.” The joke parodies the biblical phrase “God giveth and God taketh away,” presenting the removal or loss of an ordinary object as melodramatic divine intervention. It can be sent as an absurd reaction to losing something trivial.
