Turkish Lira Inflation Meme
I REALLY LIKE THE AMERICAN RAPPER 50 CENT OR AS WE CALL HIM IN TURKEY 3 LIRA 2020 This April This November 3.5 LIRA 4 LIRA 5 LIRA
A mustached Turkish man wearing a red fez appears in a six-panel collage comparing the American rapper 50 Cent with the falling value of the Turkish lira. The joke plays on “50 Cent” becoming “3 lira,” then showing the price rising from 3 to 5 lira between 2020, April, and November as an absurd reaction to inflation.
