Rifle Accessory Classification Email
Classification for this item Good evening, I've recently come into ownership of this rifle accessory, and I want to make sure that I'm within federal regulations. I've attached pictures of it, but would this be considered a Brace, or a Butt-stock? It's made of a pliable silicone, and not the typical hard, black plastic. When pressed to your shoulder, the pliable silicone naturally goes limp, and conforms to the shoulder (pictured). Ultimately, I would like to add a 90 degree foregrip to the shaft of the rifle. I'm hesitant if this is considered by the ATF to be a Pistol and not a Rifle... I don't want to get screwed by the Federal Government. I know there's a lot of misinformation in the media about the Big Black Carbines (BBC), and I just want to make sure I ask the experts before I commit a real boner (mistake). Thanks, -Matt
An email asks federal firearms experts to classify a bizarre silicone rifle accessory and whether adding a foregrip would make the weapon illegal. The joke relies on deliberate sexual innuendo: “goes limp,” “shaft,” “get screwed,” “Big Black Carbines (BBC),” and “real boner” all make the rifle description sound like an absurdly indirect description of a penis. It is shared as a reaction to overcomplicated euphemisms, accidental double entendres, or bizarre internet questions.
