I Don't Understand Airports
I don’t understand airports. I don’t believe these people are even real. Why are 200 people flying to Chicago from Cincinnati the same time as me? It is a Monday at 8 pm? The most random time of the week? Do none of you work? And the plane is at full capacity? How? It takes less time to drive there? Why did we all make this stupid financial decision? The man next to me is wearing shorts. It’s snowing in both cities?
A confused passenger stares from an airplane while questioning why so many people are taking a full flight from Cincinnati to Chicago on a Monday night. The joke is the bewilderment of discovering that strangers have independently made the same seemingly irrational travel decision, including flying instead of driving and wearing shorts in snowy weather. It is used as a reaction to situations where ordinary crowds or shared decisions feel inexplicably strange.
