Ukrainian Refugee at South London School

First day at school for a Ukrainian refugee in South London

A pale-haired white child sits among several Black children in a crowded classroom. The caption jokingly imagines a Ukrainian refugee’s first day at a school in South London, playing on the contrast between the child’s appearance and his classmates. It is used as an ironic reaction to feeling conspicuously out of place. EN: A pale-haired white child sits among several Black children in a crowded classroom.
