Walking Up With a Calculator

When my teacher calls my name to give a presentation on the Holocaust and I walk to the front of the room with a calculator

Cristiano Ronaldo walks through a packed FIFA awards ceremony in a blue suit, greets people, hugs someone, and raises the trophy while the caption frames him as a student approaching a Holocaust presentation with a calculator. The dark joke uses the calculator as an absurd prop implying a disturbing attempt to quantify the Holocaust, contrasting the serious subject with Ronaldo’s triumphant, celebratory entrance. Gym Class Heroes’ upbeat pop-rap song “Stereo Hearts” featuring Adam Levine plays over the clip, making the entrance feel even more dramatically confident and intensifying the irony.
