Chinese peasant from 1820-30 Food $200 Data $150 Rent $800 British Opium $3600 Utility $150 someone who is good at the economy please help me budget this. my family is dying spend less on British opium no

A fake Twitter budget request from a Chinese peasant in the 1820s–30s lists ordinary expenses alongside an absurdly large cost for British opium. When someone suggests spending less on opium, the poster simply replies “no,” making the joke about colonial-era opium addiction and refusing the obvious solution. It is used as an absurd reaction to someone prioritizing a ridiculous luxury or harmful habit over necessities.
