Cloud Bill Developer Edition
Cloud bill developer edition: $12159.29 JVM $7591.12 JVM GC $1297.55 Logging $556.2 Spring Framework $111.49 Other Dependencies $5.15 Your Code
A mock cloud bill breaks down a developer’s expenses into JVM, garbage collection, logging, Spring Framework, dependencies, and their own code. The joke is that the infrastructure and frameworks cost vastly more than the tiny portion represented by the developer’s code, making fun of modern software complexity and cloud costs.
