3D Printed Replacement Gear
A very common 3D printing success story. This bolt on my helicopter rotor is rusted out. Robins wanted $1,590 for a new one. I was able to 3D print my own for pennies. Companies can’t scam consumers anymore. He's never gonna buy a replacement part again I can confidently say that.
A social media screenshot shows a rusted helicopter rotor gear alongside a rough gray 3D-printed replacement. The joke is that the supposedly successful repair is absurdly dangerous and crude, so the confident claim that no replacement part will ever be needed again sounds ominous.
