The joke is that the candidate’s code was accepted into the company’s codebase, but the candidate was rejected anyway, mocking excessive hiring processes and companies benefiting from unpaid work. It is sent as a reaction to absurd interviews, exploitative take-home assignments, or frustrating job searches.
