Thanks for the transparency
I was fired by Apple today. Me and my design team have spent the last 18 months tirelessly testing different levels of gaussian blur on backgrounds when foreground elements are in focus. A dark-mode social media screenshot shows a post claiming that a designer was fired by Apple after spending 18 months testing blurred backgrounds and translucent interface effects. A reply says “Thanks for the transparency,” making a pun about both openness and transparent glass-style UI design. It is used as a sarcastic reaction to corporate jargon, overlong design work, or ironic layoff announcements.
